Rustic cabins and lodging for groups large and small
A sixth generation working ranch, located in spectacular Glenwood Canyon, this is a whole new escape from the commonplace. Bair Ranch opens up an off-the-grid, back-country experience, unlike anything else out there. Both old school and all new, it combines the charm of a classic mountain retreat with the appeal of some modern amenities. Our lodging options are all about relaxing, reconnecting, and enjoying the great outdoors.
You’ve no doubt heard that the best places are hard to find. By that standard, our cabins are positively outstanding. There’s only one road and it’s not so easy to spot unless you know just where to look. This unpaved ranch road winds through mountain terrain, canyon, pine forest and alpine meadows, each turn revealing another postcard-perfect vista.
Although most two wheel drive cars can access the roads, this may not be the best option for those driving low to the ground luxury cars.
The “off-the-grid” Golden LeGrand Lodge and Caribou Cabin run on limited solar and hydroelectric power. For this reason, guests should not bring electrical appliances such as radios, hair dryers, and crock pots, as these items overload the system and can cause black-outs.
The Camper Cabins and Tent Sites do not have power available, nor does their shared bathhouse. These options also will also require you to bring in your own drinking and cooking water, as the locally sourced water in the bathhouse is not drinkable. There is a safe water source spigot at the base of the ranch, just a 5-10 min drive, where you can fill your water containers.
There is limited cell phone reception, and there is no internet or phones in the cabins.
Pets (with the exception of service animals) are not allowed.
WE ARE A WILDERNESS RANCH “OFF THE GRID,” WHICH MEANS WE GENERATE OUR OWN ELECTRICITY, SO THERE IS ALWAYS THE POTENTIAL FOR POWER BLACKOUTS, WHICH SHOULD BE EXPECTED, ESPECIALLY DURING THE NIGHT TIME.
